Welcome to Hamilton New York

Founded in 1795 and first known as Payne's Settlement, the Village of Hamilton celebrated its bicentennial in 1995. It is located in the Town of Hamilton in Madison County, New York and is home to Colgate University. Hamilton was recently named one of the friendliest towns in America by Forbes Magazine. Come for the day or stay for the weekend and enjoy all that Hamilton has to offer!!!!

Thursday, September 29th from 2:30-4pm - "Color Yourself Peaceful" Adult Coloring Workshop

Adult coloring enthusiast Midge Herrick will provide workshop attendees with all the supplies needed to start coloring. She will also share tips and tricks for mastering this relaxing hobby! Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library. 


Thursday September 29th at 6:00pm  - An Evening with WWII Veteran Bill Gallick
The Hamilton Public Library will host a special interview by Madison County Historian Matthew Urtz with WWII veteran Bill Gallick.   Gallick was the Captain of two Naval ships during WWII including a sub chaser on the eastern seaboard.  There is no charge for this event.  Refreshments will be provided by the Hamilton Public Library.


Friday September 30th 12PM:2016 Varsity Football Fundraiser Night At Ray Brothers' BBQ......ME-H Varsity Football is comprised of players from four area high schools: Hamilton,Madison,Morrisville-Eaton & Stockbridge Valley all playing on one team...Start your Friday Night Lights right with the BEST BBQ in the area and support your local high school football program on Sept.30th at Ray Brothers BBQ,noon till closing, 10% of your bill will go to support our team! Then come see the game at 7PM when ME-H takes on Westmoreland at Morrsville-Eaton School !


Tuesday, October 4th at 10:30am - Story Time
Story Time for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers is held in the children’s story room, led by Early Childhood Educator, Hilary Virgil.  Story Time for preschoolers will be held in the community room and led by guest educator Joan Ford.  Special music time will follow. Story Time is held every Tuesdayfrom mid-September through July, unless otherwise closed for a holiday or emergency.


Friday November 4th 7PM-11PM:Save the date !!! For the 4th annual "Share in the Care Gala"...Dance to the music of The Horn Dogs! The event will take place at the Hall of Presidents at Colgate University ! To benefit Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Community Memorial Hospital Foundation & Southern Madison County Volunteer Ambulance Corps !!!!
